Quintana Roo to get New Time Zone

This just announced today, I thought I would share this with readers of the blog.  This means that basically Mahahual and Quintana Roo now will be in the Eastern Time Zone, which is the same as the eastern part of the USA and Canada.  This also will help stop a lot of confusion amongst the cruise ship passengers, because most of the cruise ships are on EST also.  The article below is translated from Spanish.

Many news articles state that this does not apply to Municipalities south of Tulum. And so if those articles are correct. It will not apply to Mahahual. Mahahual stays on Central time. Do a Google search and you can see these articles. There is nothing on the web from the government and so I guess you guys will find out on Monday.

    • I agree with you, but heard today from port, they are changing, so we will see. I waited until last minute until sure before sharing with my readers. I heard same thing you did. Thanks for comment.
