Arenas Boutique Hotel in Mahahual

I was on the south end of the town the other day, and I stopped in at the Arenas Hotel. Arenas is a boutique hotel located south off the malecon on the coast road to Xcalak. It is at Kilometer 2.3 on the beach.

What I found interesting was Vincenzo Ricci, the manager and operator of the hotel, is from Italy, and like so many other people I have met here from around the world. He, like many others, showed up in Mahahual on a holiday and decided to stay. He has lived here 2 years, and stayed because he said he found paradise here.

He said he loves the quiet and tranquil life, and the freedom he has here. He also stated the fact that he feels very safe in Mahahual.

They are in the process of fixing and expanding the road in front of the Arenas Hotel, so it will be easier access to the hotel soon. All the rooms have an ocean view and range from $50-$100 usd per night.

They get most of their business now from the internet and “word of mouth”, and they are listed on Trip Advisor. They also have a beach club, with a beautiful beach in front. There is also a restaurant that serves Italian and Mexican food, and a full service bar. They also have snorkeling gear, and other beach products.
