What I like about working on cruise ship days on the malecon in Mahahual is, all the different people I meet from all over the world. A lot of these people are college football fans like me. I get to see shirts and hats from almost every university or college in the USA. I have started taking photos of these people in their college attire and sharing here on this blog.
This has gotten to be very popular, and recently a photo I took of some Ohio State fans here got shared on the Ohio State Instagram page. So here is my second and latest collection of college football fans here in Mahahual.
Hardin-Simmons fan from Anders, Texas, his son plays for the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys in Texas.
Me in my Gamecock attire on cruise ship day.
Angelo Dundee and his wife Michelle. Miami Hurricane fans, and their friends Samuel and Lavonne Nipper, Ga Tech fans from Bennettsville, SC. here on cruise. They are big ACC fans, and told me SEC is overrated, yea right.
Me with 2 University of South Carolina alumni. Cheila and Mikel DeLoach. She is from New Jersey, he is from Estill, SC, they met at USC. He is class of 1984, she is class on 1987.
Vanderbilt students here on spring break.
Alan and Nan Gabrielli USC grads from Florence, SC, they now live in Marietta Ga. She got her BA in 1976, her MED in 1977, and he got his PHD in 1978. 2 well educated Gamecocks.
2 big LSU fans.
Rudy Abbott and Colleen Littlejohn, from Summerville, SC, he is wearing a Charleston Southern hat, she is related to the guy from Clemson who Littlejohn Basketball arena is named for.
2 big Clemson fans, David and Deborah Langenstein, from Tega Cay, SC, nice people for Clemson fans.
Marion Baker and Natalie Hughes representing La. Tech.
I kept seeing this guy walk around time all the time with a Louisville Cardinals shirt on all the time, name is Dave, he was here on vacation.
What I find interesting is, you can usually tell where a lot of cruise ship tourists are from, especially from the southern part of the USA, by what university hat or shirt they wear. I am trying to get a photo of as many as I can get. Funny thing is, I have not seen a lot of FSU or Alabama hats or shirts this year. Keep them coming and I will add photos every now and then.
