Sushi in Mahahual

I can’t get country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn bread, turnip greens, banana pudding, and any other of the southern foods from the USA I like, but I can get sushi, here in Mahahual, go figure.

The other day I was online, and I noticed there was someone here in Mahahual who offered sushi for sale on Sundays.  I have had sushi in Chetumal and Playa del Carmen here in Mexico, but I never thought I would be able to get it in Mahahual.

So I decided to give it a try, I am always looking for something different to eat here in Mahahual besides the same old Mexican food.  So I went to their Facebook page and placed my order.  They only do sushi on Sundays, so I placed my order, and went and picked it up on my bike.

I ordered a California roll, (they have a lot of different varieties, like shrimp and salmon, but I wanted to try a California roll), and it cost 70 pesos, and came with sauces.

I have to admit, my sushi was pretty good, especially for being in Mahahual, in the middle of nowhere.  I liked it and this may be my new Sunday meal here, sushi.  I think it is pretty cool to be able to order sushi here in Mahahual.  Now if someone would open a southern BBQ restaurant here or some “southern down home” restaurant, I will be fine. (The biggest thing I miss about the USA is my mother’s home cooking)

The name of the sushi place here is Kazuko Japanese Snax’s, and they have a Facebook page.  Here are some photos of their sushi they make. Their prices are 70,90, and 120 pesos, depending on what you order.

Here is their Facebook page if you want to check out what they have.
